Lino Printmaking for beginners
6 week course. £160.00
Wednesday evenings February 8th. - March 22nd. 2017
6.30 - 9.00pm
Tutor: Claudia Rivers-Bland.
On this course you will learn how to plan, cut and produce a print
This will lead on to creating a reduction print and a two block multi-colour print.
You will be working on a Victorian (1863) Albion Press designed for relief printing that produces wonderful results.
You will also learn how to mix inks and use the printmaking equipment correctly.
1. Using your tester block of lino we will experiment with mark making and learn how to use the cutting tools to make a one colour design.
2. Working from your own ideas and images we will plan a reduction print that uses different colours, layering them on top of each other after each new mark or design has been cut.
3. Work on a two block design learning how to register each block correctly to produce a multicoloured print.
Each new stage can take a lesson or two to complete. If there is enough time further experimentation can take place at the end.
All materials and equipment, paper, inks and cutting tools are provided.
Finished prints can be taken home and displayed and you may wish to come to the studio on an open access basis afterwards to expand on your new skills if you have enjoyed the printmaking experience.
