This 3 day course provides an introduction into solarplate and collagraph production.

Participants will work from their own source material in the form of digital images, drawings or photographs learning

how to produce and print Solarplate and Photo-Collographs. Some experience of printmaking and/or basic photography would be useful.

Basic materials will be provided. Extra plates and a range of interesting printmaking papers will be available to buy from the workshop shop.

Course covers:

The origination of suitable files to make full size inkjet positives from which to make the plates.

The exposure, development and preparation of the plates for printing.

Inking up and printing the plates on the Hunter Penrose etching press.

Further development using colour and collographic techniques.

Read more. 3 day course with Clive Vosper £225 MONDAY 20TH - WEDNESDAY 22ND JUNE 10AM - 3PM This 3 day course provides an introduction into solarplate and collagraph production. Participants will work from their own source material in the form of digital images, drawings or photographs. The course will cover: Day 1: The origination of suitable files to make full size lazer positives from which to make the plates Day 2: The exposure development and preparation of the printing plates. Day 3: The printing of plates, using the etching press. Also further development with the use of collagraphic acrylic materials. Some experience of basic printmaking and/or photography would be useful.

On this course you will learn the basics of woodcut/Lino printmaking. The vitality and immediacy of cutting into these surfaces produces dynamic results. Different mark making and use of different tools can create a whole array of effects. Sometimes with unexpected results. Lino/woodcut is a wonderfully accessible form of printmaking. Suitable for all skills and especially for those who are beginners. You will explore single colour and multiple colour lino printmaking. You will be taught how to use the Polymetaal Press that we have at Ink Spot Press.
