Lino Print one day work shop.
£50.00 fee includes all materials.
The practice of printmaking is active, its alive and its fresh.
It has been used as an alternative method of producing
art work for many artists over the centuries. It has emerged as
a separate activity from painting photography etc. and is a
great means of expression for all who enjoy the creative process.
In this print-making workshop you will learn how to use the
linocut process to plan design and create a completed set
of prints inspired by your chosen images.
You may either work from your own inspiration, or rely on the
tutors collection of books, photographs and objects for ideas.
During the session you will learn how to:
1. Transfer your image onto the lino block and cut the lino correctly.
2. Prepare the paper and paint watercolour backgrounds for
3. Mix colours to roll out inks for printing.
4. Develop your ideas using different colour ways and print
proofs so you can be happy with final design.
5. Finally print a set of 4 finished prints that incorporate all
of the above stages. These prints will be A5 or A4 in size.
Suitable for beginners and also more experienced printmakers
who want to develop new skills or brush up on technique.
You will find out how accessible and versatile the process of
lino printing can be by producing attractive images in this wonderful
relief printmaking technique.
I hope you will enjoy the printing experience and if you wish to develop your skills
further look out for other bookable dates for more tutored sessions or you can return to the studio on an open access basis for more experimentation.
