Based in Brighton and Hove UK. Inkspot is a professionally equipped printmaking studio providing facilities and expertise in screenprinting on paper and fabric, letterpress, relief printing and photopolymer printmaking.

The workshop is a working studio run by artist Jane Sampson. It operates on an open access basis providing a place that artists, designers and interested members of the public can hire to make their own prints.
£20.00 for half a day (screen, relief, letterpress and etching presses)
£35.00 for a full day (screen, relief and etching presses)
£25.00 for a full day in the letterpress area.
Customers must be fully competent in their chosen medium to access the workshop unsupervised. For those that want to learn new skills or just enjoy being creative we run regular evening classes, weekend workshops and taster days. We can also organise one to one teaching sessions for those who know what they are doing, but are a bit rusty.

Digital tuition in illustrator or photoshop. A silkscreen positive printing service (up to A1) and a screen making service for those who want to print in their own studio.

ABOUT THE STAFF
Jane Sampson. @inkspotpress
Jane is an artist and printmaker with a special interest in screenprinting. She exhibits regularly in galleries and at art fairs in the the UK and abroad and has won several awards and prizes for her work. Recently she has had exhibitins in the Netherlands and Dubai.
Currently she holds a part time lectureship at Brighton University and teaches short residential courses at the world renowned Westdean College (the Edward James Foundation). She also teaches many of the printmaking courses run at Inkspot and has written a book about screenprinting published by Crowood Press. With thirty years of printmaking experience she is well known as a knowledgable and inspiring teacher.

Handprint offers a friendly bespoke printing service. From artwork to the final hand pulled print on paper and board, metal, plastic, leather, Tshirts totes and tea towels etc.. Using either environmentally friendly inks and papers or glorious oil based inks with special effects like glitters, fluorescents, metallics and foils on paper and board, wood, metal, plastic, leather and also T shirts, totes, tea towels etc. With 35 years of screenprint knowhow Andy is known as ‘the print wizard’ for his extraordinary encyclopaedic knowledge of screen printing.
Andy specializes in printing short runs or special commissions for emerging and established artists, designers and illustrators.

Design competition winner (Cut and paste 2-D &Adobe) Fox teaches digital prep for and one day workshops in screenprinting at Inkspot. Fox originally trained as a journalist and followed that up with an MA in illustration. As a well known trans activist Fox is currently working on a series of shorts for Channel Four amongst other video and puplishing ventures.

Rose studied graphic design at brighton university where she fell in love with letterpress. She teaches letterpress, photopolymer platemaking and linocut on the Vandercooke and Fag proofing presses or the galley presses using the large range of wood and metal type at Inkspot. Recognisable by her bright pink hair Rose loves using Florescent and metallic colours mixing text and image in her contemporary take on traditional media.
