There is a £100.00 none returnable deposit payable to inkspot to secure a place. The balance of £550.00 to be paid to Max on the first day of the course.
Learn the craft of reverse glass art with gold gilding.
Leave with a beautiful framed piece designed by Maxime but crafted and
hand painted by you in your choice of colours.
Learn to use different gilding techniques taught by a professional.
The course will allow you to experience 4 different techniques that will kickstart your gilding journey giving you all the tools that you need to carry on on your own. The only limit after that will be your imagination.
All tools, equipment and materials will be provided except for the gold leaf. Online
suppliers are listed below.
What you will need to bring:
You’ll need 4 books of 23 ct 12g gold loose leaf
2 books of transfer leaf of the colour of your choice, between 9ct to 18ct. The lowest carat being closer to silver.
You probably will not use all the gold during the course
which will allow you to keep the rest for you to practice with at home.

Course timetable:
Day one
You will be guided through the water gilding technique.
You will be gilding most of the day, but while waiting for the gold to dry,
you will be shown how to draw some fundamental shapes to help you build a composition.
Towards the end of the day we'll be printing the design onto your glass
using silkscreen aided by Andy from Handprint.
Day 2
We’ll get rid of the excess gold and start the painting process.
You’ll see your outline transform into gold lines.
We’ll will be using enamel paint with low odour white spirit.
Smell shouldn’t be a problem but if you are sensitive to solvent
bring a mask with you.
Day 3
Blending techniques in painting and applying Matt gold.
Learn another gilding technique allowing you to play with a Matt gold effect,
You will be shown several different techniques that can be used to stick the gold onto your pieces, using transfer gold or loose leaves.
Day 4
You will finish what is still in progress and while waiting for it to dry, we will look at more design inspiration and you will have a chance to ask more questions.
When the art is dry you will be able to frame it in the frame provided and take it home
with you.

You’ll each leave the course with a framed piece designed by Maxime Bishop.
You’ll get the phone number of the artist to carry on asking for advice when you it for yourself after the course.
You’ll get 2 designs in a PDF format for practicing at home after the course
